On the 11th of May, the planting of almond and pomegranate trees, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition, WorldFood Azerbaijan, took place in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. Since ancient times the almond tree has been considered as a symbol of purity, prosperity and fertility. The pomegranate is an integral attribute of Azerbaijan, a symbol of life and the revival of nature, as well as part of the new image of WorldFood Azerbaijan exhibition.
The planting was held with the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Food Safety Agency of The Republic of Azerbaijan, and participants and organisers of the exhibition.
For the first time WorldFood Azerbaijan opened its doors in 1995, and continuing up to today, its popularity has been growing among specialists in Azerbaijan and in the region. Over the 25 years of its success, the exhibition has gathered 2137 companies on its site from more than 40 different countries.
Over the years, the exhibition has proved to be a reliable foundation for the demonstration of equipment, goods and services in the food and related industries, providing an opportunity to find customers and enter new markets, and strengthen existing relationships with business partners. Today the exhibition is the only hub of meetings of leading local and international manufacturers, distributors and exporters of the food industry in the region.
The exhibition is supported by Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Food Safety Agency of The Republic of Azerbaijan, National Confederation of The Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic (AEC), Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation, Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
