Georgi Niparishvili, CNFA Manager, The USAID Agriculture program (Georgia)
- I represent the USAID agricultural program in Georgia. We came to the “InterFood Azerbaijan” with four beneficiaries of our program. These are fruit processors and companies producing juices for export. In Azerbaijan, we are looking for suppliers of fruits and glass bottles and caps for them. We have local partners with whom we have been cooperating for a long time. At the exhibition, we also hold negotiations with Russian manufacturers of bottles and caps.
The program of our visit to Azerbaijan included a trip to the regions of the country, a meeting with the producers of pomegranates, quince and cherries - with long-term plans, since delicious Azerbaijani fruits are great for making juices.
Azerbaijani farmers have already visited Georgia under the USAID program. Now we came to be acquainted with the potential suppliers of fruits and containers to Georgia.
We are visiting the “InterFood Azerbaijan” exhibition for the first time. Before that, we more often visited such exhibitions in Turkey. I can say that we never leave exhibitions “empty-handed”. The connections and contacts established here will necessarily result in further cooperation, the conclusion of new agreements and the establishment of new economic ties. I believe that the Baku exhibition will not be an exception.
